2021 WPRA Media Award Recipient Julie Mankin

The Breakaway Roping Journal’s contributing editor Julie Mankin will be honored at the WPRA’s Star Celebration Dec. 2 for her work with The Breakaway Roping Journal to help drive the sport forward.

Mankin is a former newspaper editor and Wyoming-based freelance writer whose work has appeared in Western Horseman, American Cowboy, The Team Roping Journal and more. As a breakaway roper, she earned a top-10 finish at the College National Finals Rodeo and a Colorado Professional Rodeo Association championship.

On this episode of “The Breakaway Breakdown,” Mankin expresses her love for the sport and her knowledge of the sport’s rich history.
